Tiny scripture Doodles

Here we are in August already! I finished up the tinyscripturedoodles in Proverbs. 


 I am now going to do them in Philippians along with the study and the readings of His Mercy is New. I hope to keep up with them all.
I had this extra set of 48 Prisma colored Pencils that I can now keep in this cute little pencil wallet I got at amazon. It holds 74 pencils and pens, just right to have with me when I do a little art or coloring. I hope you are all enjoying summer as I am and staying in His word.

Art Supplies and study

 I finished week 4 in this bible study, all done. But Time Warp Wife will be starting a new 4 wk study on the 18th called the Virtuous Life. I am looking forward to it. 
We have been having great weather and time to get outside and do things. It has been also busy at our house the last few weeks so not a lot of time for art. 

 These are called "wood Pastel boxes", for storing your pencils and pens etc. There are 2 three drawer boxes here. This is the best storage solution for my supplies that I have  ever seen. I am so happy with them and it is so easy to find colors and pens now. They hardly take up an room in my sm art area. I got them from Amazon. Love love love them!!!
This is someone elses art studio using the boxes. Very nice!

This amazing set is a gift from my sweet hubby. So I have gotten another box just for them. I don't do a lot of art in the summer but a lot in the winter. so we will see how that goes this yr. But I can't wait to use these pencils and all the colors.

HP Planner & Markers

This is this weeks HP pages. I use the Zebra Mildliner markers mostly. They are pastels. I can also use them in my bible because they are so transparent. They make good highlighters. 
It has been a busy week but nice. Hope you all had a nice Christmas, we sure did.  It is always so nice to be with family and see the children open presents.

Paper watercolor pallet

 I made this little watercolor pallet from 140 lb watercolor paper because it has some tooth to it. Then added Ink Tence colored pencils in the squares. I stapled wax paper on the inside to keep the colors from rubbing off. I fits perfectly in my folder in my Dori notebook. You can use any watercolor pencil for making one of these. Very handy when traveling.
We just got back from a short road trip to celebrate our 55th Anniversary. Our weather here in Idaho has been so very nice for Febuary. We are so thankful for all the Sunshine!

DLP week 2 & art supplies

  This is my art work on DLP challenge for week 2.  It is actually a quote from Sara Young in Jesus Calling. I used some gel crayons by FC. They are just like Geletos but a lot cheaper, the kids set. Also some Gesso(the White circles) and Sharpie fine point pen,micron and colored pencils. This page is from my ARC 6 x 9 journal. I am going to try to work it it more.
  I did these calender pages in my arc art journal just to see how I liked this lay out and I do, but I think I will do this again only put it all on one page. I am getting were I like to do lettering more and more and this is a good place to practice.
     
 
I recently got some new art supplies and I love the Frixion Eraseable Colored Pen set. They are the answer to all the mistakes I make. Lots of fun colors to journal with. 


These are some I got for Christmas and also love the Inktence Pencils and the much needed Graphite Pencil set.  I am so thankful for all my Art Supplies.

Diy Techy Prayer Journaling

 
  I finally found a nice sturdy ipad cover that I just love. It was on sale at Amazon. It swivel's to view the ipad vertical or horizontally and in several positions. It also has a strap to keep it closed when I take it with me.
So I have been doing a lot of research on Prayer Journaling. even apps. I think it is such a good idea. So after much thought about it I decided I would just make,my own and do it in my Notability app since it is the one I use the most. And I can use it off line.
 
 Here is a pic of it on my screen. 
 The green one is my subject, Prayer Journal, and all the pages in that subject as seen below. 
 
Here is the first page with my prayer list on it and all in a different color. ( They also have lots of fonts) I have a page for each one.
This will be so easy for me to look at each day and keep track of who I have prayed for and I will put the answer to that prayer in red. I can hand write notes here too, put pictures of family by their name and use icons. I can copy and paste scriptures. I just didn't want to do another paper journal and to me this is a little less time consuming, especially when you want to include scripture and pictures. 
 
 
In my journal supply bag I had these little mesh pencil bags. They are just the right size for pens and my colored pencils. They were .50 cents at Staples.

Journaling supply bag

 
 This is my journaling bag and I was so happy to find a Franklin Covey 7 hole punch for my personal journal at the thrift store for only $1.00. It is so easy now.
 
 
So I bought the bag at Harbor Freight tools just for my journaling supplies. It is just like my art bag but I have not painted it yet. Not sure I will. I have pens, gel pens, fine tip markers, Highlighters, pencils, eraser, colored pencils, sm stencils, rulers, sissors, washi tape, glue, hole punch, dry erase markers. a pouch with stickers and cut ours in it, and misc.
So when I sit down to either work in my person journal or art journal or bible study journal I have my bag right beside me. It is compact and easy to move any were I choose to journal which is some times out side.

Something special

This came in the mail today thanks to Leslie at Everyday Artist. She had a give away and I was one of 3 winners. I have been wanting to try out one of the Stillman and Birn Sketchbooks. Now I can and it is the pefect size for travel.

Art travel kit Bag

 
 I got this make up travel bag for $4.00 at the thrift store, It was brand new. It is 8 x 11 and has lots of pockets. I thought it would be perfect for taking on a trip. Vacation time is coming up. It holds every thing I wanted to take along. 
What is in my art bag?
 
         Art Supply list

* 2  Sketch watercolor tablets
* 10--6 x 9  Bristol smooth 100lb paper
* Cut foam board 91/2 x12 and bull clip to hold paper
(  I use these all the time when I draw because they are
 so light weight and just the right size for me.)
* Some scratch paper 
* Sm piece of wax paper & white crayon for resist 
* Koi Watercolors 
* Pens and Pencils & eraser
* brushes, scissors, ruler, toothbrush for splattering.
* Sm bottle of water & a spray bottle.
* Kleenex, & a few sheets of Paper towels 
*  A few Business cards
 
I am one of those people that like to draw more on loose paper rather that in a book. That way I can make copies of a drawing for other uses. It is just me. When just drawing with pen only I feel a lot more comfortable with a loose sheet of paper. If I make some bad mistakes I can just turn it over or toss it. 
I love these small art kits. They make me downsize and think about what I really need to put in it.
of course all I really need is paper, pencil, pen, watercolor and water. But that is another sm kit I have.  I also like to see what I can make out of things that were ment for something else. It is a challenge and gives you lots of inexpencive options.
PS- It took me 5 tries to post this. So it is still not working quite right. But I did it!

New Fine Liner Pens

 
It is birthday time again and this is one of the things I got. I did the Stagecoach sketch in the brown one below. The colors are very bright and the pen is very fine tip. They are also water soluble. I love the case they come in too! I really really like these!! I will be using them a lot because I love to sketch in color.

A good Idea-- Update

 
I saw this on Pinterest about using Rubber Cement as a resist. I gave it a try and really like it. It is easy and rubs off easily. You could use a brush and put it exactly where you want it.  I just drizzled it on.
This is the day the lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it.

UPDATE.
I finished this page in my spiritual art journal using this page above by just adding to it. 
 
 This just some notes on Colossians 3 12-14.  The point is if we clothe ourselves, put on these things, we can make a difference. Loving others is the most important of all.
I love art journaling because it does not have to great, just fun and spontaneous. It is just for myself.
but it is also fun to share and maybe be an inspiration to someone out there to try it.

My Paletts.

 

All I can say it is about time! It has been 12 yrs since I changed my water color palette. OH my!!!
So I have been working on it for 2 days. I had to remove all the old paint and replace it. I like  American Journey watercolors from Cheap Joe's and use them the most.  My tubes are still just like new after all this time, but I am very careful to clean the tops before I put the lid back on the tube.
Then as I changed each color, I worked on the color chart and placement of each color and the name of the color and taped it to the lid.
Knowing the names of my colors helps. Ah, all new fresh color. I am so inspired now. But I have sewing projects I just have to get done in the next few weeks. But maybe a few simple painting will happen.
 



 
 I bought this seal able Palette and added my own colors.
I am never happy with the traveling kits that come with color in them. I like my own colors better and the quallity of  A J watercolors. 
This is for my new art bag. I also like that it seals so it does not leak and keeps the paints a little moist.  I also made a little chart for this one also. It fits perfect under the clear mixing tray.
It has been a lot of work, but fun to organize things. 
 
So we do need to freshen up those colors sometimes but do not wait 12 yrs to do it.  Joe reminded me of that on these two videos that are very good.
