The Bay

This is a little water color I did of Morro Bay. As you can see my letters are terrible. I really need to practice doing lettering. It is not my favorite thing to do.
So I cropped it and it looks better. But I really like the words of this song and they seemed to go with the picture.  Jesus is our Rock!  Oh, well I will keep trying.
Have a blessed day.

Desert Trip

Recently we took a trip to Reno NV to visit our son and his family. There are miles and miles of mountains and desert. So as we were passing McDewermitt NV I sketched this sm picture and painted it last night.

The desert can be really beautiful. We love all the openess and the big sky. This time of  yr the clouds and the storms in the distant are very pretty. There are deer,  antilope, wild mustangs and elk to keep an eye out for. Lots of  cattle. horses and hay ranches to see along the way. Some think this is a boring part of the highway, but we don't think so. You just have to look, God created this part of the country too. There is beauty in it all!

Being Thankful!
Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
5 For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.

Cabin #2

This is cabin 2, the Pinion. It was in Feb in the Sierra's when we stayed in this cabin.
It did have a lot more trees around it but I chose not to put them in.
It was warm and cozy. I did this in watercolor of course on 140 lb paper.

Cabin #1

We use to live close to Lake Tahoe and would drive by this little Chalet on our way to our favorite beach. The flowers and widow boxed where always so bright and cheerful. It was one of my favorite cabins at the lake.

I took the picture in 02 and finally got around to painting it, of course with an artist license. I love cabins and maybe I will do a series of them, especially the ones we have stayed in.
I am back to doing the kind of art I really love. I just can't get rid of my detailed nature so will just go with it.  I don't want to try to be like someone else, not that I can't learn from them, but I think you just have to be yourself.  Good or bad it is your art!
God Bless your Day and Happy Painting!!

Fall in the Country

Last week we went to northern Idaho for a few days and the fall colors were awesome.
So I was inspired to paint this Country fall scene on a journal page. I just love the variety and color of God's creation. And He did it all for us to enjoy! Thank you Father God creator of all!
It is so incredible to think that no two trees are alike on all the earth and no to people are either.
We are all unique. So we should not compair ourselves with anybody else. So lets just be ourselves and work with what we have been given. Love others and ourselves as God loves us.
Have a Blessed weekend!

Pattern with color

Oh my, life does get a little busy this time of yr. With church and bible study, and now starting to make some Christmas gifts. Time with friends, family and Grandchildren, and all the household stuff that needs to be done. Places to go and a vacation comimg up. My art time is suffering. Let alone trying to blog at times. I am trying to keep my priorites in check so blogging gets put back on the list. So sorry. Just not enought time to do all that I would like.
I did this painting of patterns a few weeks ago and I just love the colors.
God's blessing to you!
May God always be first in my life, and with me in everything I do!
Praise God for His Spirit that leads and guides us all. We need only to ask Him!

A Fall Painting

I went to a car show with my hubby today from 8.30 to 3.00. I forgot to take the camera again.
So I took my art kit alone and did this little fall scene while I was just sitting around with nothing else to do. It was 45 degrees this morn and felt like fall. I am already seeing some trees here in Idaho just starting to change color. I just love all the colors of fall.
It has been a wonderful summer though and we will have more summer days before fall. But the nights are getting much cooler!
This is hubby's 1953 Chevy truck that he likes to work on and go to car get togethers. I will try to get a more recent pic next time.

Hope you have a blessed day!

Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding.Isaiah 40:28

A Promise

Isn't it so wonderful to know that God will always provide for us and our every need.
He loves us so much and knows what is best for us always.
This is just one of Gods Promises in Matt 6:25-27
Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap. nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?
Great is His love for us!

Doodles and watercolor

I was just doing some fun doodles today with water colors and duel brush pen. Been so busy in the garden and back yard I missed doing artwork the last 2 weeks. But now I am at it again.
I just recieved my non stick Ranger craft sheet today so no more messes on my art table .
Can,t wait to start using it.
This is the day the Lord has make and I will rejoyce and be glad in it!

Book Marks

Having a little fun making some book marks
And on two of them I did both sides.

Doing yard work most of this week. So I am keeping this short.
Weather is great this week. Last week it rained and was very cool.
So it is yard catch up time.
Have a blessed week.

Fun With Coloring Pages

I have been having fun with a coloring book page. Ever tryed it? This is a way to practice different mediums and different techniques. I copied this page from the coloring book below on 93 lb paper from a sketch book. Then painted it with watercolors. It took me a few days as I like to look at it and think about what I can do to make it better. I see here now that I need to make the stems come all the way to the bottom of the vase. Also I was trying to use all the primary colors.  I have finally figured out that those are the colors I am most drawn too in a picture.

You can get these books from Amazon for just a few dollars. There are several different kinds. They can also help you to draw your own flowers too.

Here are a few more pages.

So when you don't feel like drawing and want to just paint maybe these can help.
Have a blessed week creating!

Pears

I thought I would try my hand at doing a small picture of pears and this is what I came up with.
The only thing is they look like they are just about ready to fall off the table. I think I will have to fix that. It has been such a busy week and not much time to paint. Hope that changes soon. I need to take my own advice and find 10 min at least to paint every day.
Hope you are enjoying this day the Lord has given to each one of us.
Blessings to you.

Leaf Watercolor

I am just testing the waters here, as it has been awhile since I painted anything.
I don't drink but I took this lable off a bottle of a family member's bottle that is.  I love the colors in this leaf so I did a small 4x3 painting of it.  I will write something on it
and make a few copies of it. Then use is as a card or in my Art Journal.
I love all the colors of fall! They are Glorious and amazing!!

Lake Tahoe watercolor

I am back from a few weeks break. Here is a photo of a photo of one of my watercolors so the quality isn't to good. I painted this at Lake Tahoe CA. at a Christians Womens retreat several yrs ago. It was a wonderful retreat and we had an art class that I took and this is what I did there. It was so fun!!

Field Flowers

This is one of those watercolors that I did in an art class that is interesting but is not my favorite. We all look at art in a different way. It is also pen and ink. I do like all the colors and texture it has though. It looks like you just stumbled upon some flowers in some tall grasses. It does have a rustic natural look. Hmmm,  maybe I do like it! I do love the verse below that it reminds me of.

For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God.  As the Scriptures say,
“People are like grass; their beauty is like a flower in the field. The grass withers and the flower fades.
But the word of the Lord remains forever.” And that word is the Good News that was preached to you.
1 Peter 1:23-24- NLT

Small Florals

These are some small watercolors. One is of a Hibiscus. I put salt on wet paint to create some texture. They will make a nice greeting cards. I will make copies and make a few.

This is a Forsythis.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Phil 4:8

Floral watercolor

This is a watercolor collage of flowers from some wimsical wrapping paper a friend gave to me. I just took several flowers from the paper and I drew them in an arrangement to make this painting. Flowers are fun to paint.

You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy;
In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.
Psalms 16: 11

The Lamb

This is a watercolor that I Painted of a lamb in the snow. It was a small picture I saw in a art book an just had to see if I could paint it too. I think it is sweet.
Well I have finally learned how to crop and lighten my pictures. So I have gone thought all of these and made changes and improvements on most of all the art on here. And I just wanted to thank you all for your encouragement and lovely comments. It has meant a lot to me!

These things took place in Bethany beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing.
The next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God who  takes away the sin of the world!  John 1: 28-29
This is one of my hubby's favorite painting that I have done. My favoite part is the old split rail fence. It is an acyrlic. I can't remember the size. My Daughter has it hanging in their playroom. It was painted from a photo.I have posted just about all the paintings I have, But I am working on a painting and when it is finished I will post it in a few weeks.

Contemporary Poppys

I was playing around one day with color and just love these bursts of color that look like Poppys. Then I splattered it to give it some sparkle and interest. It all came out very contemporary I think. I know it needs a black mat. But that is all I had at the time. It is a watercolor and is a 11"x14".
