Miniature trailer & vintage trailer sewing machine cover.

I finally finished the miniature trailer and really like it!

This week I made a vintage trailer sewing machine cover. I do really like it also.
I got my ideas by browsing around on Pinterest. But still came up with my own ideas.

I my study of Psalms 47 I was reading verse 1 and 2
Oh, clap your hand all you peoples! Shout unto God with the voice of triumph!
For the Lord Most High is awesome; He is a great King over all the earth .
I was reminded again what a great song of praise this is right out of the bible. We sing it in church
sometimes.
Have a blessed Day! God is Good all the time!

Tiny Scripture doodles, and new Bible study

I have been keeping up with my #Tinyscripturedoodles in Proverbs with Nichole at @Goosekeeperdesighns A chapter a day. Here we are half way done.
Here we have one week left. Then we will start something new.

This is just a journal page I did in the Notability App. I was just experimenting but I like how it looks sense my hand writing isn't to good. I love all the fonts and colors.

Last week I finished the Ecclesiastics study with Women living well, and their next study is going to start August 1st in James.(I am not doing this one right now).  Darlene at Time Warp Wife took the summer off to move, But she is back and going to start the Philippians study on August 8th. I am excited to do this study with her! There is always something new to learn. Hope you can join us. To get all her free material on The Philippians study just sign up to get her emails or go to her web sight or you can buy the book.
Have a Blessed Day!

photo app

I have been so excited to find out about a new app for my iPad called
 "PRINT TO SIZE."
All you do is choose the size paper you want, then the photo and move it around on the paper, resize it and hit print. Now I can make any photo to fit in my journal and no wasted paper. It is very easy!

I can now print out verses I like and family photos. I love learning new things.
I am so thankful for the little things in life like this.
And very thankful we are all over the colds we had in the family.
Have a blessed creative week!

DIY Fabric folder for Dori

This is my DIY fabric folder I made. I was not happy with the several folders that I had made from paper. Things would not stay in and not enough pockets for me.
So this one has 16 pockets all together. 8 front and 8 on the back. I make it in neutral colors so I can see clearly what is in it. Also so I can use it in my other seasonal dories.

So this is how I made it. Just measure 2 pieces of fabric the size you want your folder. Iron light Pellon to one side. cut your strips for the pockets, fold down the top 1/2" and sew across. place right sides together and sew around. leaving opening at top to turn. then sew across the top. Iron as you go along. I sewed down the middle also.
I start with the top strip and all the strips go all the way to the bottom that way some of them are deeper for larger and tall items and  some are smaller.
This is the mess I had before with the paper folder and not enough room.

This is how nicely everything fits in the fabric one. And there is not any more bulk than before.
Yes, these are necessaries and easier to get to.

The Back.

The front.

I added a little pen pocket. I got frustrated trying to hang my pens off of clips. And I have never liked using pen loops. Anyway it works good for me.
May the lord bless your week!

Psalm 85:8-9

Let me hear what God the Lord will speak,
    for he will speak peace to his people, to his saints;
but let them not turn back to folly.
Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him,
that glory may dwell in our land.

DIY Thin Washi Tape

I just wanted to share this idea with you.  I made Thin washi tape today by putting reg wash tape on some wax paper. Make it any length you want. Then I put it in the paper trimmer and cutting it. You can make it any width you like also. Then I just store them in my box. I really like the thin tape for my TN Notebooks when I am journaling.
Have a blessed and creative day!
For it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure. Phil 2:13

Another fabric dori

so this week i made this turquoise dori as a spring cover.  I tried a metallic thread and it made it pucker a bit. So now I know not to use that anymore. I do love the flower button though and the colors..

This is the inside with pockets

I spent the day making booklets. These should last me awhile. It was a day off for me.

Here are all three of my covers that I can change with the seasons. I am so happy with this design  that I am sticking with it as you can see. I am a happy fauxdori fan. I am still learning from others new ways to do my daily pages. It is always a challenge and so fun! Hope you are all enjoying your journaling too, and writing your story on a daily bases! Every day is a blessing and a gift and there is always something to be thankful for.
Love this Psalms;
Blessedness of the Fear of the Lord.

A Song of Ascents.

128 How blessed is everyone who fears the Lord,
Who walks in His ways.
2 When you shall eat of the [a]fruit of your hands,
You will be happy and it will be well with you.
3 Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine
[b]Within your house,
Your children like olive plants
Around your table.
4 Behold, for thus shall the man be blessed
Who fears the Lord.
5 The Lord bless you from Zion,
And may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life.
6 Indeed, may you see your children’s children.
Peace be upon Israel!

Another DIY Dori

I loved the last Dori I made so much that I decided to make one for fall. I love the colors of fall and these  fabrics I already had. I am not hoping that fall comes anytime to soon but I was in a sewing mood.  I have plans for at least one more.

I used an orange sm stripe for the inside and made several pockets.
The sleeve for the elestics that hold the booklets are made the same as the last one.
It is just that I wrapped it 8 this times for more stuff or incase i need it.

A close up of how it is sewn . The plastic is 1 1/4" x 8 1/2"

I hope you are enjoying your summer as much as I am. I am watching the grandkids twice a week and get to swim in their pool. Love it!
I am in desperate need of a new computer as this one could crash anytime so I am not using it very much. It has been such a blessing for 8 yrs now, but it is time! So we are looking. I am thinking a laptop this time and not a pc.
Blessing to all!

Fauxdori's and a painting

More projects. This time I am making fabric fauxdori's. The little flower one is for a friend. I just finished it. After much trial and error I think I finally have figured out how to make one so it is not to stiff and not to floppy.

Then I made 4 notebooks or signatures and a folder to go in it.

I love the fact that you can make these any size you want too. Because I made a big mistake and just cut it off so this is the size I came up with that is not really going to make to much of a difference. So the over all size when open is 9 x 6 1/2" So the booklets are 8w x 5 3/4 h when closed it is 6 1/2" h x 4" Close to travelers size.

This is another project  I have been working on. It is a painting for my Granddaughter's class to be  auctioned off for her school. This is a Sm one 14 x 20 I did to see what it was going to look like. The one for the auction is 30 x 40( huge) and I am about half way done with it. I only have a few weeks to get it done. But I was over thinking it so had to take a break and make the fauxdoris. I tend to be too critical of my own paintings. I am sure some of you know what I mean. So I have to pray alot and trust and back away.
.
Hope you have a blessed and creative week.

O give thanks to the Lord for He is Good, for His steadfast love endures forever. Psalms 107:2

DIY flat pen

I have been learning the new bullet journal system by Ryder Carroll.  I wanted to learn it to help me remember all the things I have to do, need to do and want to do. I forget so many things or I write them down and forget where I wrote them or they get lost. I Pray this is the answer for me. It is looking like it will help a lot.  So I made myself a 60 page graft paper booklet to start with for my Dori.
I have been wanting a flat pen that won't take up space in my Dori. After much searching I decided I didn't want to pay the price for one so thought I would try my hand at making one, and VOILA, I like it! Here is what I did.......

I first took apart a ink joy pen and used just the ink cartridge. Cut some craft foam and glued the pen part in between the foam and clipped ( binder clips) it together till it dried. Then trimmed it down.  Thin, Light and easy to find since it is always on my page. If I have my colored pens close by I do use them. but not always.   I also made the yellow clip in the above picture. it is like an Oli magnetic paper clip that I really like, but again I did not want to pay that much and shipping for such a simple thing. So made one & laminated it to make it strong because the magnets are strong. They will hold several pages together. like about 15.

Well There are so many creative people out there that come up with really good ideas to make things easier. And I am one that is ready for that.
Well, time to go work on my list.
Have a great creative day.
God is our source of creativity the Master Creator.
And we have His Creative Spirit living in each one of us that know Him.
Bless the Lord Oh my soul!

DIY Fauxdori 2 & 3

This is another Dori I make from a piece of very old leather that was my mothers. So it is about 60 yrs old. It was doing nothing siting in a box drying up.It was very dry and cracking, So I rescued it, had to sand it down and put coats of leather conditioner on it over several days. This piece it cut to 9'x 18' so I can fold it over. It is very rustic but I like that way. She did  tooled a desert scene on it so I kept that. So this one is very special to me.

I love the red leather lining it has.

This one I made from a piece of vinyl. I just love the size of these notebooks. The Midori's. They are very light weight and easy to handle. I make my own inserts that I will post later. These two will hold about 8 booklets. I have about 6 in it. It just depends on what you want to keep track of in it.
Well that is all for today.
Have a blessed day!
I will extol You, my God, O King,
And I will bless Your name forever and ever.
Every day I will bless You,
And I will praise Your name forever and ever.
Great is the Lord, and highly to be praised,
And His greatness is unsearchable.
One generation shall praise Your works to another,
And shall declare Your mighty acts.
Psalms 145:1-4

DIY Faux Midori Notebook

Another recycled project. I have been wanting to make one of these cute little Midori notebooks for a long time. After seeing this youtube video by SeaLemon, and just how easy it is, I thought I would give it a try. I really wanted a leather one just like the ones you can but for $45.00 and up. I remembered I had this red leather Ipad cover I was not going to use anymore and thought it would be perfect for this. It was only $6.00 and I got good use out of it.
So I cut it up to 71/2 x 9 with left overs for a pen holder and strap. I made 3 signatures that are 71/2 x 8 5/8 with 8 sheets in each one. So there are 48 pages in all. I used Aleen's fabric glue to glue the fabric on the inside and to brighten it up.  I glued a ribbon in for the bookmark. Everything I used I already had around the house.  I am so happy the way it turned out and will probable make more of these for gifts.

I plan on using it for drawings and notes, especially when I am waiting for something. I love these because they are so simple to make more signatures or booklets and to replace them. Also you can make these any size you want them and any type of material for the cover, even card stock covered in pretty paper. Oh the possibilities!
Have a blessed creative week as you walk in the Spirit.
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

craftting

I am still here, but I have been doing other things. lately, I took a plain cardboard box and covered it with designer paper to hold my everyday journaling supplies.  I use PVA glue. It is my favoite paper glue.

I have also done some sewing and made a few fabric postcard and a mug rug.

Have a great weekend!

Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good. Romans 8:28 MSG
